“Write it. Shoot it. Publish it. Crochet it, sauté it, whatever. MAKE.” - Joss Whedon

These days I seem to be cross stitching it!

I used to cross stitch in the 80's and 90's and have done one here and there, but the cute motifs and crazy backstitching were never my thing.  I like Autumn and Halloween best, and I was milling around Pinterest and was checking out the new and improved artwork as well as massive selection there is these days...and now I'm all about the stitching!

This was started things in January....a lovely designer called Little House Needle works. Perfect for a Christmas present next year.

Then this on by Blackbird Designs, soooo much more colorful for a person awaiting spring. However, this one had a stitch I did not know and as a knitter and a crocheter (and a want to try all the things type of person) I knew YouTube would have the answer and tutorial that I needed. I found a tutorial by Peacock and Fig that told me what I needed to know, and then of course auto play was on.  I then found out what Floss Tube was, as one does, and down the rabbit hole I went!

I've been stitching and watching Floss Tubers ever since...and maybe collecting a pattern or two...

Learning about fabric other than aida!

Learning about confetti stitching and hand-dyed flosses...

Learning to stitch in hand and use the sewing method...

Totally love all the things that I am learning, stitching, history, dying, and I may have even toyed with some graph paper to make a motif or two.

Waking up excited because I'm going to do things that make me happy! Love it!

“Creating means living.” -Dejan Stojanovic, The Shape

Welcome!

I'm starting this blog, where I started my first one nearly a decade ago. I have been on quite a journey since then.  The social aspect of the internet seems to come and go in waves for me, but the passion for creation has been a constant.

I hope you find yourselves creating, involved in what connects us to the definition of ourselves as well as to the expression of our perceptions.   However you do this, create, share, explore, express...no matter how new or experienced you are, please do no leave something "undone" for yourself.

I feel that I have a new wave rolling in, and I have no idea what this ride is going to be like. Please, share my journey with me, get inspired, give pointers, and ask questions. I am hoping that the communities of creative people I am seeing continue to support, lift others up, and be the change this world needs!
